Mass Times & Parking Arrangements for Irish Open (4-8 July)

The only Masses expected to be affected by the additional traffic moving to/from Ballyliffin are those taking place in St Mary’s Oratory. Please allow additional time to travelling to/from the Masses next weekend. For Masses in Cockhill, people might think of using the Hilltown Road more.

Weekday Masses will continue at the usual times.

Parking at St Mary’s Oratory for morning Masses will only be in the carpark to the rear of the Oratory. There will be NO PARKING on St Mary’s Road on at the Gates of the Oratory. Attendants will be in place to help people arriving on foot to cross the road safely.

Similar parking arrangements will be in place for the weekend Masses at St Mary’s Oratory.

The most significant change next weekend will be that the 9.00am Mass in St Mary’s Oratory is brought forward to 8.00am.

Please show patience and understanding in light of the heavier traffic. Thank you.

Official Family Prayer for World Meeting of Families 2018

God, our Father,

We are brothers and sisters in Jesus your Son,

One family, in the Spirit of your love.

Bless us with the joy of love.

Make us patient and kind,

gentle and generous,

welcoming to those in need.

Help us to live your forgiveness and peace.

Protect all families with your loving care,

Especially those for whom we now pray:

[We pause and remember family members and others by name].

Increase our faith,

Strengthen our hope,

Keep us safe in your love,

Make us always grateful for the gift of life that we share.

This we ask, through Christ our Lord,

Amen

Mary, mother and guide, pray for us.

Saint Joseph, father and protector, pray for us.

Saints Joachim and Anne, pray for us.

Saints Louis and Zelie Martin, pray for us.

13th Sunday in ordinary time

Wis 1:13-15, 2:23-24. Wisdom was written about 40 BC and the Jews had come to believe in life after death. The devil’s envy of God and the sin of Adam brought death. But we are made imperishable after God’s own nature.

2 Cor 8:7, 9, 13-15. Since God has been so generous to us in Christ who emptied himself of his divinity for us, we should share and share alike with one another.

Mk 5:21-43. Mark’s account of these two miracles is not just about Jesus ‘ going about doing good and curing all who had fallen into the power of the devil’ (Act 10). Mark is here already teaching us about how we will be raised from death to life through faith in Jesus and in his

resurrection.
