Count Your Blessings
If you
woke up this morning with more health than illness, you are more blessed than
the million who will not survive this week.
If you
have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony
of torture or the pangs of starvation, you are ahead of 500million people in
the world.
If you
can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture or death,
you are more blessed than almost three billion people in the world.
If you
have food in the fridge, clothes on your back, a roof over your head and a place
to sleep, you are richer than 75% of this world.
If you
have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish place, you
are among the top 8% of the world’s wealthy.
If your
parents are still alive and still married, you are very rare.
If you
hold up your head with a smile on your face and are truly thankful, you are blessed
because the majority can, but most do not.
If you
can hold someone's hand, hug them or even touch them on the shoulder, you are
blessed because you can offer God’s healing touch.
You are so blessed in many ways you may never even know.

World Mission Sunday
Next
weekend our parish will celebrate World Mission
Sunday. It’s a way, chosen by Pope Francis,
that gives support to those suffering within our Church family. On the 20th, every
single parish worldwide will give what they can. It will be used to support overseas
missionaries, many of whom work in some of the world’s most impoverished communities.
Your donation will be greatly appreciated.

A message from Bishop Donal McKeown
In response
to the proposed introduction by Westminster
of legislation on 21st October for unregulated
abortion in the North - the Church
leaders of Ireland have called for the weekend of 12th and 13th October to be dedicated
to prayer for the protection of the unborn in our society and for women facing difficult
and challenging pregnancies and their families.
1. A “Prayer
for the Unborn” is printed on prayer cards and is available in the porches, for
each household
to take home.
2. Please
support the online petition by Baroness Nuala
O’Loan at Change.org (search for Nuala O’Loan).
3. Please
contact your local MLA and ask them to take action to stop the introduction of unregulated abortion
in Northern Ireland. Thank you for your support at this critical time.
Pro-Life Adoration
Adoration
every Monday evening in Christ
