2018 - early October 2019.

40 Hours Annual Adoration - Star of the
Sea, Desertegney
The 40 Hours Annual Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament
takes place in Star of the Sea, Desertegney beginning today, Sunday 3rd November
after the 10am Mass and running until 7pm. It will resume tomorrow, Monday morning
at 11am and conclude on with Benediction at 7.00pm. It is my hope that many people
will avail of this special opportunity for prayer.

St Mary’s Church Cockhill
Due to
some essential maintenance taking place in St Mary’s Church, Cockhill, there will
be no Mass Monday - Wednesday next week.
Eucharistic Adoration Chapel
The Chapel opens at 6am until midnight Mon - Sat, it
opens Sunday at 2pm until midnight, more adorers are needed to strengthen these
hours, please phone the parish Office if you are able to commit to one hour per
week
Matt Talbot, Freedom from Drugs Mass.
The Matt
Talbot Freedom from drugs Mass will be celebrated in St Eugene’s cathedral on Monday
4th November at 7:30pm. This mass is offered for those who are addicted to drugs
and for their families. We pray that through the intercession of venerable Matt
Talbot, people will be freed from this addiction. Prayer cards are available at

Readings for 31st Sunday in Ordinary Time
Wis 11:22 - 12:2. The gentle imagery conveys the gentleness of the all-powerful
Creator, who has called all things into existence. He loves all that he creates,
his “imperishable spirit is in all,” and “little by little... he corrects those
who offend...”
2 Thess 1:11 – 2:2. In this early letter (51 AD) St Paul urges his new converts
to cooperate with God’s grace to become ever better Christians, rather than concerning
themselves with Christ’s 2nd coming.
Lk 19:1-10. Jesus’ love for his people, especially for those who have strayed, causes
him to reach out to welcome the penitent Zacchaeus, a senior tax collector for the
Romans. Both Jesus and Zacchaeus are exuberant. The tax system was notoriously open
to abuse and its collectors were hated.
