Question 2: What time can we have our wedding? -

Wedding arrangements should only be finalised with the agreement of the parish office.

Since 1983, no weddings in the Diocese of Clogher are permitted on Sundays or on Holy Days of Obligation (At present on the island of Ireland, these dates are: 6 January, 17 March, 15 August, 1 November, 8 December, 25 December.) Please do not book a wedding on any of these days.

Weddings in St Michael's Church are normally at 1pm in order that the other demands on the use of this church can be facilitated. Only one wedding on any single day is held in any parish church so as to properly serve couples whose weddings are already booked.

Weddings in St Mary's Church are normally at 1pm in order that the other demands on the clergy of the parish can be met.

The time of the wedding must be settled at the time of booking the wedding. Later changes will only be possible with agreement of the parish clergy team, in order that the parish clergy can plan to meet the other requirements of the parish.

Weddings in St Michael's Church Crypt are by special arrangement.
