Cemetery Sunday in the Parish of Drumragh 2018

The annual Service of Intercession for the Dead takes place today, Sunday, 10th June, in Drumragh Cemetery at 3 pm and in the Dublin Road Cemetery at 5 pm. Those travelling by car to the Service in St Mary’s, Drumragh, are asked to follow a one-way system. This is in the interests of road safety and to minimize traffic congestion. The access point for ALL vehicles approaching St. Mary’s Cemetery is by Lough Muck Road, turning off the main Dromore Road opposite O’Kane Park and then turning right at the Fireagh crossroads. Stewards will direct you to car parking which will be adjacent to or within the graveyard area. The main car park at the cemetery is reserved for the use of disabled people only. We ask that everyone else park in the fields provided by local farmers as parking spaces in and around the Church and graveyard are very limited. Other cars will park on the grass area of the new graveyard. Please note all other entries to St. Mary’s Church shall be closed before the ceremony. After the ceremony, when leaving the car park, motorists will be asked to turn right. At all times, it is important to respect and follow the instructions of the stewards. Those attending the Dublin Road Ceremony are asked to park their cars on the left side of the Dublin Road only (same side as the cemetery) and co-operate with parish stewards and PSNI personnel on duty. The Order of Malta Ambulance Service will be in attendance at both services.

Please note: All families are asked to bring a small container of Holy Water with them for blessing their own graves at the appropriate time during the service.

Emergency Mobile

Parishioners are reminded that the use of the Parish Mobile number is restricted to cases of emergency only. This number is being increasingly used by parishioners to make general enquiries. These should only be made during office hours to the Parish Office on 028 8224 2092. Misuse of the emergency line renders it unavailable to families in genuine need of a priest in their loved ones’ final hours. We thank you all for your cooperation in this matter.
