will be from 5th to the 10th July 2019- – a slight change to the usual dates. Opening Liturgy for World Meeting of Families: The World meeting of
families 2018 will open on the evening of Tuesday 21st August in parishes and dioceses
across the country with a special liturgy. Firstly, the bells of every church in
Ireland will ring out at 7pm that evening to mark the event. This will be followed
by the celebration of a Liturgy of evening prayer, prepared and led by Lay People.
The Opening of the world meeting of families 18 in our parish will be celebrated
in the church of the Immaculate Conception at 7pm on Tuesday 21st August 2018. In
preparation for this celebration of the Liturgy there will be a meeting in St Michaels
College, Enniskillen on Monday 23rd July 2018 at 7.30pm. We ask many people especially
young people to come along to that meeting. Robert Barron: Robert Barron is a priest. He is also an evangelist
who uses U TUBE and Social Media to make the Gospel known to many people all over
the world. I have been listening and watch him on the internet recently. He is very
popular with young people and has become a phenomenon in the world today. If you
would like to listen and see him on the internet just Google his name and he will
come up on your internet. You may find him inspiring, positive, and a person who
communicates the Gospel in a refreshing way. He tells us that his mission is to
make Jesus known in a secular culture where God is not accepted or known. He has
many interesting things to say and he says them very well. He has millions in his
audience, and because people can speak back on this media he has learnt a lot over
twenty years working in the media. His great gift is himself for he is positive,
friendly, optimistic and proud of the Catholic Church and of its work in the world.
Many in our congregation might like to follow him. Learn more about him and his
work yourself. You could get hooked. Blessing of Graves: Blessing of the Graves on Sunday 29th
July at 12.00 noon. A collection for the upkeep of the Graveyard will take place
at Graveyard gates. Each family is asked
to bring a small bottle of Holy Water and sprinkle their family grave during the
ceremony. Death: We pray
for the happy repose of the soul of Johnny Curry –Kinawley – whose funeral Mass
was celebrated in Kinawley Church on Wednesday 18th July 2018. May God console those
who mourn his death! |
