Fahan Parish Newsletter (Burt, Inch and Fahan) Sunday, 25th August 2019 | 21st Sunday in Ordinary Time Fr Neil McGoldrick PP, Fahan, 074 9360151 Website www.fahanparish.com Fr Fintan Diggin CC, Burt, 074 9368155 Farewell We bid a fond farewell to Father McGoldrick who has been Parish Priest here
since 1997. He certainly has left his mark. We wish him every blessing and happiness
in his retirement. Welcome We extend a warm welcome to our new Parish Priest, Father Francis Bradley
and our new Curate, Father Kevin Mulhern. Father Bradley has plenty of experience
as he is already Parish Priest in Buncrana, and former Diocesan Administrator of
the Diocese of Derry. This does not mean an amalgamation of the Parishes of Buncrana
and Fahan; they will continue to be entirely separate. Father Mulhern has spent
many years in Africa, and is now on loan from the Society of African Missions. We
hope he will be very happy here. Evie Hone stained glass window To celebrate 70 years
since the installation and dedication of an Evie Hone stained glass window
in the church, on Sunday 8 Sept 7pm you are invited to join with the people of the
Church of Ireland parish of St Mura’s, Fahan at the service to help us celebrate
this beautiful artwork that so clearly shows the God given gifts and talents of
the artist, the subject and lady to whom it was dedicated. Please bring your family/
friends/congregation! Sympathy We offer our sympathy to the family and friends of Patricia Kearney, Moress, Inch Island, who died during the week. May she rest in peace. Congratulations to Claire McElhinney, Church Brae and Tony McCallion, Derry, who were married
