Parish Finance

Copies of parish income and expenditure for 2018 are available from the back of the church. This reflects the conclusion of the main work on the Parish Centre (including installation of lift, new kitchen facility, and refurbishment) and the greater part of the work on the Community Centre at Belmore Street (including car parking extension, new kitchen facilities, main hall upgrade and general refurbishment). We thank parishioners for their kind support and generous contributions, whether through the Planned Giving box of weekly envelopes or in other ways. You can take some pride in the extent to which you are enabling the parish to successfully revitalise itself to good effect. The refurbishment of Community Centre in particular has drawn positive comment. Together with our Parish Centre, it is once more regularly and fully used, enabling community groups and individuals flourish, thereby helping families in the town and parish area. Our Parish Churches continue to be particularly beautiful and to serve parishioners well for baptisms, weddings and funerals, as well as our regular Sunday and weekday Masses.

Please note that each single envelope of the yearly pack is planned and is purposely included to help the parish meets its overall needs and obligations both locally (white/pink envelopes) and at national/diocesan level (other coloured envelopes). The blue envelope contributions are for the support of the clergy and to defray other parish ministry costs. Furthermore, we thank all in the parish who give the benefit of their Gift Aid. If you are a taxpayer and wish to begin giving this important help (at no cost to yourself), please enquire at our Parish Office. We are also particularly grateful for any donations, legacies and bequests, which are especially helpful in supporting general parish renewal and maintenance work (Pink Envelopes). In this regard, kindly remember St Michael’s Parish when making a will. In the coming year, please continue to help the parish each week (blue & white envelopes), most especially in regard to meeting our obligations regarding our diocesan levies (other coloured envelopes).

THE PARISH DRAW - CALLING PARISHIONERS TO SELL A DRAW CARD

The Parish Draw is the mainstay of building maintenance and development in the parish. The Parish, as we have it, is a gift to us by the generations before us. Participation in the draw gives us an opportunity to do something for the future. You can make a difference by selling lines on a Draw Card for your family, friends and colleagues or you can join the draw in the Parish Office.

This would be very much appreciated. We would very much wish to thank all those who have done this for the parish in the past and who continue to do it in the present. In this way, we will have a great outcome from the Parish Draw. £5 per month for the chance to win great prizes. A very high proportion of the draw money goes out in prizes making it a very good draw.

If you are interested in becoming a Promoter of the Parish Draw or would like a family card, please call to or phone or give your name in to St Michael’s Parish Centre 028 66322075 Ext 3. First draw takes place on Monday 11th November.
