The Parish of Drumragh, which includes most of the town of Omagh, can be defined\nby two locations, the Mass Rock of Corradinna and the Church of the Sacred Heart\nin Omagh. The Mass Rock gives testimony to a people in penal times who were prepared\nto endure great hardship so that the faith could survive.

The Church of the Sacred Heart in Omagh is a statement of the esteem which the\npeople of the parish have for their faith and evidence of what they were prepared\nto do in a more favourable climate.

In more recent times the Parish had been at the centre of world-wide attention\nbecause of the terrible bomb tragedy of August 15th 1998 when thirty-one people\nwere killed and hundreds injured; a tragedy borne with great courage and dignity\nby a faith-filled community.

A brief history of the parish can be found in the publication - Noble Story\n- a short history of the diocese of Derry. However, the book Poetry in Stone, by\na former curate of the Parish, covers everything about the parish, right up to the\ncompletion of renovations in 1999.<\/span><\/p>
