Bishop Francis Lagan RIP As a diocesan family, we were saddened to learn this week of the death of Bishop Lagan, retired Auxiliary Bishop of the Derry Diocese. After his Funeral Mass in Church of the Immaculate Conception, Strabane, he was laid to rest in his native Maghera (Glen). Bishop Lagan visited our parish on many occasions over the years for the Sacrament of Confirmation and is fondly remembered for his gracious, cheerful and gentle manner. He would have celebrated his diamond jubilee in priesthood on Friday of this week (19th June). May he rest in peace. We Pray for Agnes Doherty, late of 34 Willowcrest, Castlederg As a parish faith community, we offer our sympathy and our prayerful support to the husband, Shaun, son and daughter, Charlie and Aideen, brothers, Tommy and Charlie, and wider family circle of Agnes, whose Funeral Mass took place in St Patrick’s Church, Castlederg, last Sunday. We further commiserate with the family on the sudden death on Wednesday of this week of Agnes’ sister, Annie McGuire, housekeeper to Fr Joe O’Connor in Killyclogher, and formerly of Tullycar. May Agnes and Annie rest in peace.
